I'M READY TO BUY A HOME, BUT DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START

1. You should first start by finding a lender that you can feel comfortable with. (If you don't know of one, call a Realtor they can recommend one for you to use.)

2. Speak with the lender and ask for a preapproval amount. (You can usually get a preapproval the same day.)

3. Once you know how much home you can afford, then your ready to begin your search for homes.

4. Call your Realtor and have he/she send you a list of available homes.
Once you decide which homes you are interested in then give your Realtor a call and he/she can schedule the appointments for you to see the inside of the homes.  If you find a home that is FSBO, it is important to contact your Realtor and NOT the homeowner. Your Realtor can call and schedule the appointment for you.
*The reason for this is so the homeowner will know that you are being represented by a Realtor and you will not lose the option of having a Realtor there to protect your interest throughout the purchase of your new home.

**It is very important to see all homes with only one Realtor (unless for some reason you are dissatisfied with their service)
